Seven local soccer coaches were awarded their `B' Licence following a recent course sponsored by the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) under the direction
The seven included Jeff Amaral, Andrew Bascome, Herbie Bascome, Devarr Boyles, Mark Thorne, Mark Trott and Colin McQueen.
Beard noted there was a number of candidates who came up just short as being likely to succeed in subsequent courses having now gained extra experience.
Demanding in terms of the information forced to be absorbed by the candidates, combined with the physical aspects, the course was designed along the lines of the FA Preliminary and United States Soccer Federation `B' Licence formats.
As a result of the aforementioned group attaining the increased status the majority of First and Second Division teams now have licensed coaches.
The following changes have been made to the Shell Youth League schedule for Saturday: Mini Minor A: Dandy Town Reds v PHC Whites (St. John's), Wolves Yellow v North Villge Reds (Bernard Park), Devonshire Colts Orange v St. David's (Frog Lane).
All matches start at 9 a.m.
Minors: Hotels v Wolves (St. john's), Devonshire Colts v St. David's (Frog Lane). Matches start at 10 a.m.
Bantams: Devonshire Colts v Somerset (Frog Lane), Wolves v North Village (St.
John's). Matches start at 11.30 a.m.
SOFTBALL SOF Commercial Softball League play on Tuesday saw Deloitte and Touche beat BOB Bobcats 15-12 with Rob Sarker and Dan Wolma each going three-for-four behind winning pitcher Christe Bell. Fraser Gray suffered the loss.
Gray and C.Renaud led the losers, Gray going three-for-four and Renaud two-for-three.
Rego slamed Serco 15-4 with Joe Ferreira going four-for-five and Ken Williams wining the game. Clyde Leguerrier took the loss and Lloyd Jenkins had a two-for-three night for the losers.
NTB Flyer beat BOB Killer Bees 24-16 with Joe Teixeira going five-for-six with a homer and team-mates Derek Atkins having a four-for-four appearance and Peter DeStefano three-for-three. Gary Flood was the winning pitcher and Carol Conidi the loser.
On Monday, Mark Ray and Greg Kressin each went three-for-four as DeCosta's beat M.R.Onions 22-17.
Chris Montgomery led the losers with a four-for-four night, slamming two homers and driving home seven runs while team-mate Mike Fisher went three-for-four. Keith DeCosta was the winning pitcher while Rick Olsen suffered the loss.
Surface Trends beat Sousa's 12-11 behind winning pitcher Randy Kowich and solid batting by Kirk Duerden and Dave Chambray who each went three-for-four.
J.P.Harrop and Ron Masum had three-for-four nights for the losers behind pitcher Mark Kaplin who suffered the loss.
The other game saw Palms hammer Rubbernecks 19-7 with Braxton Stowe and Dean Williams going three-for-four while San Han had similar batting stats for the losers. Charles Williams was the winning pitcher, Rob Swan the loser.
