Smith leads locals at Tri Worlds
world stage yesterday.
Competing in the World Triathlon Championships, 19 Bermudians -- led by Adam Smith and Kris Hedges -- took part in their respective age groups under sunny skies in Cleveland.
Smith posted a time of two hours, 12 minutes and 26 seconds for the 1.5-kilometre swim, 40K bike and 10K run, but finished only 88th out of 94 among 18-19 year-olds. Hedges clocked a 2:13.49 and was 62nd out of 73 in the men's 16-17 year-old category.
Karen Meyer was the first Bermuda female to cross the line. She was 45th out of 50 with a time of 2:33.27.
