Somerset Rebels and Dream Team stayed at the top of their respective divisions with relatively easy victories.
Somerset, who now have a 10-1 record in the Western Division, had the easier route as they dumped lowly St. George's by a score of 85-59. Allan Bean (23) and Glenn Crockwell (17) were the main men for the west enders.
Eastern leaders Dream Team's match was closer but the result the same. They outlasted Metro 56-49 in a match dominated by defence.
Tony Williams scored 24 for the victors who led 33-23 at halftime before Metro tightened the clamps.
CRICKET CRI There was a double dose of excitement for St. John's as they emerged victorious in both finals of the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control's Summer Clinic.
In the under 10 section the Pembroke team defeated St. George's by 106 runs after posting a target of 166 and watching the east enders stumble to 60 all out. Jamal Blakeney shone brightly with the bat, scoring 70 out of the St.
John's total.
Meanwhile, among those over 10, it was St. John's again showing little regard for the St. George's bowling as they lost a mere two wickets in chasing down their opponents score of 105 for seven.
Maurice Lowe with a sparkling 42 not out and Justin Robinson, 34 not out, occupied the crease as St. John's innings was closed at 106 for two.
The over 10 consolation finals saw Bailey's Bay down Southampton by 49 runs.
Bailey's Bay batted first managing 145 runs and then dismissed Southampton for 96.
Southampton returned the favour when the under 10s met, losing one wicket as they eased past the 68 posted by Bailey's Bay.
SNOOKER SNO National Sports Club moved into an almost unassailable lead at the top of the Super Six league as they won easily over Old Colony Club II.
Nearest rivals Old Colony Club I were upset by Queens Club I, who are now challenging for second.
Stanley Hill scored a hat-trick in Nationals 7-0 drubbing of OCC II and Tony DeSilva and Randy Paterson each had two wins.
For Queens, who won 6-1, it was Roger (Sticks) Henderson who turned in the hat-trick with two wins over Brian Haxton and a 21 break. Gary Skinner also won twice as Dennis Coyle's victory prevented the whitewash.
In other action Police trounced Queens II 7-0.

SOCCER SOC Southampton Rangers will have a soccer training session for all senior players tomorrow at the club starting at 9 a.m.
There will be a meeting for all Spinning Wheel Raiders players at the Spinning Wheel on Monday at 7 p.m.
SWIMMING SW Three age group records were broken Thursday during the second day of competition in the Harbour Swimming Club Open Championships.
William Massey, swimming in the boys 11-12 age group, broke two records while Olympian Chris Flook captured one. Massey bettered his own record in the 50 metres freestyle clocking 27.22 seconds over the distance and then surpassed the 100 metres butterfly mark of one minute, 13.07 seconds set by Stephen Fahy in June 1990. Massey touched home in 1:12.81.
Meanwhile Flook, fresh from Barcelona, also set a new standard in the 15-18 age group breaststroke with a time of 2:28.39.
The finals of the open competition take place today at the BASA pool.
