With only four weeks remaining in the Miller High Life League the race for the top continues to narrow.

Leaders and defending champions Tools and Equipment appear to be doing their best to surrender the title won last year with several indifferent showings in their last few outings.

This fact was evident in the latest round when they were thrashed 22-8 by mid-table side Stevedoring Services, who seemed to enjoy playing the spoiler role.

Ed Stovell was the top kegler as he aided Spoilers to a team high series of 2,757, which more than offset the 2,641 posted by Equipment.

Marlboro, who stood to benefit greatly from the loss by the leaders, took full advantage of the opportunity in sweeping aside Spoilers 251 -41 since all four Marlboro team-mates posted `fives' on the night.
