night in their team to take on Bailey's Bay on Saturday in the final of the Eastern Counties.

As was reported yesterday by The Royal Gazette , the club's members were ready to settle their differences with Steede over an incident last year when he reneged on an agreement to join the club as a league player. And judging by the reaction of the members when the team was announced at 10 o'clock last night, all seems to have been forgiven.

The team was read out by club president Eddie Lamb and he did his best to contain himself when he read out his own name as one of two colts in the team, joining teenag spinner Kameron Fox as debutants.

"I have mixed emotions, I was quite confident I would be selected,'' said Lamb afterwards. The 34-year-old has been reserve in the Eastern Counties on a number of occasions.

"I have contributed quite significantly to the team this year and my confidence level is quite high. I'm finally being rewarded for loyalty and dedication.'' The club named three guest players, Steede, Wendell Smith and Del Hollis and cricket committee chairman Delby Borden is confident they have a winning team, even though he was disappointed at having to leave out one player.

"I would have liked to carry `Spike' (Wayne Richardson) but work commitments meant that he could not train with the team,'' explained Borden.

He was pleased, though, at the reaction to Steede's inclusion. "Everybody is happy to see him back, we've settled our differences.

"He trained with us and said he was happy to be back home.

"I'm looking for a lot form Kameron Fox. I'm not concerned about the crowd getting onto him, he's a very determined youngster.'' Added the president: "In my opinion Albert has always been a surrogate son.

He was never out of favour with me and I have welcomed him back into the fold.

"I'm sure he will make an individual contribution to our cause on Saturday.'' The team will be captained for the first time in the Eastern Counties by Lionel Cann, with Shea Pitcher his vice captain.

Team: Lionel Cann (capt), Shea Pitcher (Vice capt), Wendell Smith, Albert Steede, Eddie Lamb (colt), Phillip Pitcher, Del Hollis, Herbie Bascome, Sammy Robinson, Dale Fox, Kameron Fox (colt). 12th man is Rudy Smith and reserves are Anthony Bascome, Chris Foggo and O.J. Pitcher. Manager is Delby Borden.
