The points race resumed on Sunday for the Pepsi National Championships, with racing being competitive in all classes although fortunes were mixed for some

Chris Maxwell shot to the front on the first lap in the 80cc class and was followed by Kemo Simons, Michael Burgess and Jamal Hassell. Simons went down before the finish line and lost a few places while Maxwell took off and held a big lead.

Simons got back into the race in pursuit of Maxwell and by halfway Simons was six seconds behind but closing the gap. On the last lap Simons caught and passed Maxwell to clinch the win with Hassell third.

The second 80cc race was a repeat with Simons leading from start to finish.

Maxwell got back in the third race, winning it handily over Burgess who was one of the faster riders on the day. However, he could not capitalise after a fall knocked him back.

The C class was a father-and-son affair with Donnie Moss winning the 250 and Devin Moss the 125 over Kyle Constable and Evan Lambert.

There was close racing in the 125 B competition between Aaron Pace, Justin Belboda and Gary Simons. Pace and Belboda took turns to lead races with Pace the overall winner by one point. Simons put in some good rides but a flat tire in the last race put him in third place for the day.

In the 250 B class, Robert Smith was on his way to first place overall after two wins but relinquished the lead to Duprey Joell, which brought Edison Jones to second and Smith to third overall. Joell takes over the points lead.

NETBALL NET Dellwood were the winners of the Bermuda Schools Sports Federation's Primary Schools netball round robin competition at Bernard Park yesterday when they beat West Pembroke 7-6 in the finals.

Inspired by goal attack Gina Brangman and tiny goal scorer Sandy Pacheco, Dellwood emerged unscathed from group play despite giving away size to all of their opponents. They went on to beat Somerset Primary 7-0 in the semifinals while the other semi saw West Pembroke defeat Victor Scott 7-3.

The final was closely contested with both teams exchanging the lead. West Pembroke took the lead near the end and seemed to be heading to victory when a late surge by Dellwood put them ahead and they never relinquished the lead during the few moments left.

While Brangman and Pacheco again spearheaded Dellwood's drive, West Pembroke were led by goal attack Tanya Richardson and goal scorer Samantha Knights.

Now the stage is set for an exciting match-up when the two teams tangle in the Primary School knockout competition next Thursday.
