Ton-up Tucker blasts PHC

PHC 82 Southampton Rangers enjoyed a run feast against PHC's bowlers on their way to a comfortable 203-run win at St. John's Field on Sunday. Kwame Tucker, relishing his new role as opener, followed up his 56 on Saturday in the Knockout Cup against Willow Cuts with a well struck century which included nine fours and six sixes.

Tucker put on 130 with Keith Wainwright (38) for the first wicket and he then added a further 91 for the third wicket with Janeiro Tucker before falling for 109. Janeiro Tucker departed two runs later for 63 which included six fours and three sixes. Carl Garzette added 26 in the tail-end before the overs ran out.

Mark Smith was the pick of the PHC bowlers, taking two for 22 from seven overs.

PHC had only two batsmen in double figures in their reply of 82 from 23 overs, Smith scoring 17 and Kenny Mills 15.

The Rangers bowling was led by Garry Williams and Garzette who took three for 27 and three for 26 respectively while David Saltus claimed two for six in his one over.

The other two scheduled First Division matches were not played as Cleveland won by default over Social Club at Nationals and Somerset Bridge failed to show for their home match against Flatts.
