Freight Club Championships at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association.

In the tournament which is Bermuda's national championship, number four seed Harry McKenzie was the only top player to drop a game, as he was stretched in the early part of his match against Rod Holloway.

Holloway started strongly and after losing the first game 10-9, he won the second one 9-6. McKenzie then picked up the pace to complete his passage to the last eight, winning the last two games 9-4, 9-0.

In the preliminary round, Holloway had won a tough battle against Adam Hawley, 9-4, 6-9, 9-5, 5-9, 9-1. And in another thrilling match at the weekend, Kirby Smith and Chris Thornton, who will be Bermuda team-mates in the upcoming Northern Caribbean Championships went the full distance, with Smith eventually prevailing 9-7, 8-10, 6-9, 9-1, 9-6.

In men's division three, two of Bermuda's top under-12 players were matched up in the first round. National under-11 champion Alistair Melvin was edged out by Iain Redford, 9-6, 6-9, 7-9, 9-1, 9-3. It was a similar story in the ladies' quarter-finals, as the favourites advanced. Top seed Janine Keeble outclassed Susan Perry in straight games.

In the last four, Keeble will meet Val Protheroe who won a hard-fought contest against Carol Ferris, 3-1. Denise Kyme will meet Christine Barnes in the other semi-final, after straight-games wins against Kerry Haslam and Suzanne Rose respectively.

Men's division two produced one of the matches of the day with Howard Smith finally getting the better of Tony Muldoon 10-8, 6-9, 9-5, 9-0.
