only manage an eighth-place finish in the lucrative IAAF Grand Prix meet in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Bermuda triple jumper, who was sixth in the Atlanta Olympics, could only manage a leap of 16.28 metres, well off the 16.96 which landed him second place in the Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday.

Britain's world record holder, Jonathan Edwards, won yesterday's event with a jump of 17.79 followed by Kenny Harrison of the US at 17.23 and Yoel Quesada of Cuba at 16.84.
