but Denmark's under-23 soccer team are clearly on a mission in unseasonably warm Bermuda.

Arriving on Thursday evening, they had two 90-minute training sessions yesterday and two more are scheduled for today ahead of tomorrow's first of two friendly internationals against Bermuda at Wellington Oval (3.00 p.m.).

The Danish League is on a mid-season break until March because of the freezing weather and tomorrow's game will be the first outing for the players since November.

Technical Director and coach of the Danish team, Jen Poulsen, admits to knowing little about the Bermuda team, though he expects a tough match from the hosts.

"We don't know much about Bermuda,'' he accepted. "We have heard they are a difficult team in Bermuda but maybe not so good away. But we are in Bermuda so we can expect a difficult team to beat.

"Obviously I would like to win but I would also like to see my team play good football. Most of the players are professionals in Denmark but half of them have difficulty making the first team.'' Poulsen sounded pleased when told that tomorrow's match would be played on the biggest field in Bermuda.

The Wellington Oval pitch, which measures the maximum allowed under FIFA rules -- 120 yards in length and 76 yards wide -- could prove to be decisive for both teams, especially in warm conditions such as those experienced over the last couple of days. "We like it better when we play at eight in the evening not three in the afternoon,'' said the Denmark coach.

The Danes are anxious to get in a couple of competitive matches, especially after the unfriendly, freezing conditions back home in Denmark.

"That's why we go to these places,'' added the coach. "We have to play Italy at the end of March so we have to keep on playing football.'' Wellington Oval is one of the better grounds to watch local football and Bermuda Football Association will be hoping for better attendance than at the two matches against Antigua recently.

Technical Director Clyde Best and head coach Robert Calderon have maintained the bulk of the squad that was assembled for the Antigua matches, with former Bermuda captain Meshach Wade of Vasco, Somerset defender Andrew Rahman, Dennis Robinson and Jahmah Samuels of Devonshire Colts coming in.

Squads: Bermuda -- Dwayne Adams, Timmy Figureido, Clifford roberts, Shannon Burgess (capt), Kofi Dill, Ascento Russell, Kenny Mills, Otis Steede, Stanton Lewis, Meshach Wade, Kaiwon Dill, Devarr Boyles, Devon Binns, Dennis Robinson, Kentoine Jennings, Keishon Smith, Karl Roberts, Ellington Weldon, Andrew Rahman, Jahmah Samuels, Randy Spence.
