Zebras eye cup revenge
in the semi-final of the Friendship Trophy (Devonshire Rec. 9.00 p.m.).
The Zebras crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of the Red Devils recently, Kevin Jennings firing a late winner.
They will be looking for a good performance after a disappointing draw against second-from-bottom Devonshire Cougars on Sunday.
PHC had plenty of chances and held the territorial advantage but were unable to find their way past the 'keeper, the match finishing 0-0.
Coach Sammy Swan has spoken of his disappointment at not being able to retain the league title his side won last year, and this competition represents the Zebras' last chance of some silverware.
Village will also be looking to get over a frustrating weekend. Although they got three points courtesy of a 4-2 victory over already relegated Southampton Rangers, the manner of the win was not pleasing on the eye as Scott Morton's men struggled to get their passing game together.
They should have made light work of Edgar Smith's team, but it was only in the last 15 minutes that they showed the endeavour required to keep them in the title hunt.
BASCOME SETS HEAT RECORD SOC Bascome sets Heat record David Bascome became the Harrisburg Heat's all-time greatest goal scorer at the weekend.
The Bermudian, who plays in the National Professional Soccer League in the US, notched his 297th goal of his Heat career during the 24-16 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Attack.
Bascome had two assists in the second quarter before his history-making two point strike in the third.
Fellow Bermudian, Meshach Wade also got his name on the Heat scoresheet earlier in the evening.
Apart from their pride being hurt, the defeat did little to dent the Heat players' spirits as they qualified for the divisional play-offs last week.
The next game is against the Buffalo Blizzard on Saturday at the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg.
