Adams wins in Vegas
Paul Adams, head professional at Tucker's Point Golf Club, won the third Annual PGA Expo tournament at the Badlands GC in Las Vegas last week.
In the Pro Division, Adams was paired with Marty DeAngelo, professional from the Isleworth Club in Orlando, which counts Tiger Woods among its membership.
The best-ball event saw Adams and DeAngelo card 66 to win on retrogression from one other team and pick up the overall trophy and $1,000 each.
It marked the second time in a couple of months that Adams had triumphed as he also won the Footjoy Pro-Scratch event with partner Mark Phillips in July, again shooting 66 at Mid Ocean Club.
"It was a great experience to play with Marty and hear his stories of playing with Tiger . . . they were very inspirational," said Adams.
"This type of tournament makes me concentrate more and takes the pressure as I know my partner can always help me out."
