Argentina qualifier rained out

Bermuda's top amateur golfers will hope the bad weather stays away as they attempt to qualify for the Island's Copa De Las Americas team for a second time this weekend.

The original qualifying tournament was rained out last weekend, so the likes of Damian Palanyandi, Jarryd Dillas and Nick Jones will go back to Port Royal Golf Course to bid for the two spots for next month's tournament in Argentina.

It is the first time that Bermuda Golf Association have decided to send a team to the tournament with Ebonie Burgess and Laura Robinson already selected for the women's team.

Top female golfer Tarikah Walikraam is unable to play in that event because she will be in Florida playing in the women's version of the Dixie Amateur.

And after missing last weekend because he was taking part in the Men's Dixie Amateur in Florida, Daniel Augustus is hopeful of competing for a spot at a tournament that will pit Bermuda against the best amateurs from the region.

The tournament will also provide the players with an opportunity to get an early look at the two courses – Buenos Aires Golf Club and Olivos Golf Club – that will be used for next October's World Amateur Team Championships.
