Bermuda defend title
Bermuda's women successfully defended the Balandra Cup at the Kitty Michaels Invitational tournament in Florida yesterday when they won the Team Low Gross with a 770.
On the 5,198-yard Islandside Course they carded a 250 yesterday to go along with the 261 on Tuesday and the 259 on Wednesday.
The runner up in the Team Low Gross for the Balandra Cup was the team from Lyford Cay who carded 814 overall.
Carole Ratcliffe from Southeast Florida won the Individual Overall Low Gross for the Kitty Michael Founders Trophy with a three-day total of 257 while Cathy Carter from Greater Toronto won the Individual Overall Low Net for the Maggie Cassella Trophy with a three-day score of 212.
Greater Toronto also won the Team Low Net for the Bermuda Bowl with a score of 666 while the runner up was Southeast Florida (677).
Yesterday Bermuda won the Daily Gross with a 250 by players Kathy Lloyd-Hines (83), Katyna Rabin (83) and Katrin Burnie (84).
Southeast Florida had a 265 for second place followed by Greater Toronto 267, Puerto Rico 271, Guadeloupe 271, Lyford Cay 275, Ocean Reef 275, Southwest Florida 278, Baltusrol 296, Summerlea 297 and Jamaica 313.
Bermuda were third in the Daily Net division yesterday with a 226. Bermuda's scores came from Wendy Salvia (72), Kathy Lloyd-Hines (74) and Katyna Rabain (75).
Winning the Daily Net was Guadeloupe with a 219 followed by Greater Toronto 222.
