Bermuda international Tyrell Burgess has been released by Vancouver Whitecaps after only one season at the professional club.

The 23-year-old made 25 appearances and scored one goal last season for the Whitecaps who reached the final of the United Soccer Leagues Division One.

He initially signed a two-year deal with the Canadian outfit who recently joined the reformed National American Soccer League (NASL) for next season.

n For the second successive match Khano Smith failed to make Lincoln City's first team squad on Saturday. The Imps drew 0-0 at Crewe in a League Two match.

Christmas camp for kids

Budding young footballers are being offered the chance to perfect their samba skills at the Bermuda Brazilian Soccer School (BBSS) this Christmas.

The camp will be held at BAA Field from December 21 to 24 from 9 a.m. until 3.30 p.m.

The final day's session will finish earlier at 12.30 p.m.

BBSS CEO, Cal Blankendal, said there were only 100 spaces available at the camp with all registrations to be submitted on-line at www.bermudasoccer.org
