Local ten-pin bowlers Patrice Tucker and Aretha (Smith) Burdell took on the best that America had to offer in Reno, Nevada, recently and showed that Bermuda can more than hold its own in the sport on the international stage.
The doubles pairing of Tucker and Burdell came second out of 707 teams in the Handicap Division of the ladies' doubles at The National Bowling Association's Annual Championship tournament.
Tucker had games of 247, 258 and 224 for a 729 scratch series, while Burdell had games of 192, 175 and 171 for a 538 series.
They finished with a 1460 handicap total, and their 1267 scratch total also saw them finish ninth in the Scratch (Actual) Division.
