Brangman duo star in Central Counties win

Bermuda Hogges 2
Bermuda Hogges' miserable season just got even worse.
The beleaguered outfit capped their seventh successive away defeat with a humiliating seven-goal thumping by tabletoppers Richmond Kickers on Saturday night.
And if Lightbourne and Co. could call the curtain on their woeful campaign then they probably would, such has been the depressing manner in which Hogges' third year at the professional level has panned out.
Hogges simply capitulated in spectacular fashion at the University of Richmond Stadium and were five goals down within half an hour as Kickers ran riot with strikes from David Bulow (2), Michael Burke (2) and Benjamin Hunter.
It's doubtful whether even a rousing Churchillian-like half-time team talk could have lifted Hogges as their nightmare continued soon after the break with Kickers smacking a sixth when Chris Carrieri fired past 'keeper Jason Williams.
Goals from Lloyd Holder from the penalty spot and a Jamie Smith header were of scant consolation as Hogges still gave their opponents the final say, conceding a spot-kick late on which was converted by Matthew Delicate.
Hogges are now rooted to foot of the league table and those occasional glimpses of early season optimism now seem like an eternity ago.
Assistant coach Jack Castle said Hogges paid the price for some amateurish defending.
"We just didn't play from the outset and were guilty of making some really bad defensive mistakes," he said.
"I thought we had improved certain things in recent weeks, but then we go and make the same mistakes again.
"In the second half the players must have listened to our instructions because they played a lot better.
"But, it was all too late by then."
