Budgies, Swallows share points in six-goal thriller

Both teams relied on three separate goalscorers as the two sides shared the points in a highly entertaining match.
Lakae Dill put Budgies on the scoreboard first in the 23rd minute with a reverse stick shot at goal before Joanna Kingsbury equalised for Swallows in the 26th to leave matters all square at the break.
In the early stages of the second half, Budgies were unable to keep possession of the ball and Swallows took full advantage as they scored field goals from Jennifer Chisnall in the 56th minute and Mallory Towlson in the 61st.
Budgies clawed their way back with Robinson netting their second goal and the equaliser came eight minutes later from Marcia Ford, assisted by Robinson.
Wildcats 2 Canaries 3
Canaries got off to a flying start as Joanne Smith-Barrow netted her first of three goals from a penalty corner in the seventh minute.
That 1-0 lead held up until the break after which goals came fast and furious.
In the 44th minute Canaries doubled their lead with another penalty corner goal by Smith-Barrow and she completed her hat-trick in the 49th minute with a field goal.
But Wildcats mounted a comeback with Ryce Trott scoring their first goal and Karen Campbell netting another.
Women's 'B' League
Cardinals 0 Canaries 0
Cardinals took control early in the game but were unable to convert their chances in the first 20 minutes. And the game remained scoreless throughout with Canaries sweeper Val Young leading the defence.
Swallows 1 Bluebirds 4
Although Bluebirds applied the early pressure, it was Joanna Kingsbury who put Swallows ahead with an opportunistic goal from a deflection in the circle following a penalty corner.
But Bluebirds continued to press and were rewarded in the 31st minute when Kourtney Fassler equalised.
Swallows hit back, putting pressure on the Bluebirds defence but they held out thanks to tackles from Anne-Marie DeGraft-Johnson, Fiona Lloyd and Morag Gilliland.
Bluebirds then went ahead through Sarah Smith in the 44th minute and increased their advantage from text book play with captain Kris Soares slamming home in the 60th minute.
Swallows continued to attack only to be denied by Bluebirds 'keeper Helen Trussell. Bluebirds sealed the match in the 70th minute from a penalty corner.
