Burgess finds goalscoring touch for Reading Rage

Tyrell Burgess

Bermuda international Tyrell Burgess has opened his goalscoring account for United Soccer League (USL) team Reading Rage.

Burgess was on target for the Pennsylvania-based PDL outfit in their 2-0 win over the Northern Virginia Royals at the Fairfax High School, Fairfax, in Northern Virgina, on Saturday.

Rage, formerly coached by Bermuda Football Association's technical director Derek Broadley, have won three of their four matches this season.

Last week North Village winger Burgess was named in Kenny Thompson's 25-man national team squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Barbados at the National Sports Centre (NSC).

Burgess scored his first goal for the national team in their 1-1 draw against Cayman Islands in the World Cup qualifying first leg at the NSC in March.

Midfielder Tre Manders, who missed out on the recent national team squad, has also enjoyed success in the PDL league with his Bradenton Academics defeating Central Florida Kraze 3-0 at the IMG Soccer Academy on Monday.
