Mike Smith scored 19 points to help champions Hamilton Parish Chargers record their first win of the new season as they beat Southampton Titans by just two points on Thursday night.

Chargers led by five points with 30 seconds remaining, but a pair of free throws and a three-point shot by Titans' Leyde St. Leger tied the score in the final seconds forcing the game into overtime.

Guard Huysane Symonds, who scored 31 points, hit a three in the extra minutes to give the Titans their first lead since the first half.

However, Smith would answer with a series of baskets in overtime to put the Chargers back on top.

A missed shot at the end of overtime saw Chargers clinch victory.

Chris Crumpler's 23 points wasn't enough for the Bearcats as they lost to the Wildcats.

Despite trading baskets for most of the game, Wildcats pulled away in the final minutes thanks in large part to Ryan Rabain (22) and Richard Warner (14).

Juron Tucker chipped in with 11 points for Paget in a losing effort.
