Colts capable of an upset
St. George's v Devonshire Cougars
St. George's will be entering into new territory when they travel to title contenders Devonshire Cougars tonight.
Colts came desperately close to claiming their first point of the season against PHC last weekend but conceded in the final moments of the match.
That this game will be Cougars' third in the space of a week should improve Colts' chances of causing an upset.
Cougars will need to shift focus from the Dudley Eve to the league and put pressure on their title rivals who all play on Sunday.
Prediction: Cougars 2-1
North Village v Dandy Town
This is the clash of the weekend and a showdown of legitimate title contenders.
Although this game won't have any bearing on the title just yet, it will give a clear indication of how far both teams have to go early in the campaign.
For defending champions Hornets, a point on the road at Bernard Park will not be a bad result at all.
But the hosts won't be in a charitable mood. They will be looking for a marked improvement on their comeback win over Somerset Eagles last weekend.
Prediction: 2-2
PHC v Devonshire Colts
After a hard fought win over new-boys St. George's, PHC will need to improve if they are to get three points against Colts.
Zebras are creating chances yet their inability to put the ball away may cost them in tight matches.
Colts battled hard for a point in an opening day 4-4 draw against Boulevard.
They seem to have improved during the offseason and will look to cause an upset over their more fancied rivals.
Prediction: Zebras 3-2
St. David's v Southampton Rangers
St. David's must take their chances if they're to remain in the top flight after letting defending champions Dandy Town off the hook last weekend.
They come up against a Rangers side that looked jaded in the opening fixture and will need to improve defensively if they are to finish higher than last season.
Both teams know this is a winnable game and act as launching pad for the rest of the season.
Prediction: 1-1
Somerset Eagles v Boulevard
Fresh off of an industrious display in their opening Dudley Eve game, Eagles will look to continue their promising start to the season with a home date against Boulevard.
With the problems going at Boulevard and their travelling issues, they will be up against it in this one.
Blazers will need the likes of Niko Smith and Angelo Simmons to provide them with some attacking threat and they need Nelson Smith to keep things tight at the back for them.
Eagles, though, showed some encouraging signs against Village and will fancy their chances of taking away all three points.
Prediction: Eagles 3-2
