Commercial confusion
The Commerical League's Twenty20 competition struggled to get off the ground over the weekend, with just one game finishing with an official result.
Of the four games scheduled for Sunday, two didn't happen because Western Stars (who were scheduled to play St. David's and Jamaica Association) have withdrawn from the competition, while BC All Rounders and Jamaica Association were unable to agree who won after a controversial game in Warwick.
Only Spring Garden Cavaliers and St David's managed to complete their game unhindered.
Chasing St David's total of 148 for nine from their 20 overs, Spring Garden scored 151 for five, wrapping up their five-wicket win with just three balls to spare.
Dave Greenidge (57 not out) and Barry Richards (41) saw Spring Garden home, after Jeff DeSilva had claimed three for 33 to set up the chance of victory.
BCAll Rounders and Jamaica Association will have a meeting this week to try and clear up the controversy surrounding the game.
Jamaica batted first, and according to their scorer made 143 from their 20 overs. All Rounders, meanwhile, said they only had 137.
With some confusing umpiring not helping the situation, All Rounders reached 141 for eight with just one ball left, but believed they had already scored enough runs to win.
