Devonshire Cougars

27 pts, +16 GD

The obvious candidate to win the league with only two games to play.

A three point lead at the top of the charts and a far superior goal difference than Dandy Town, the side only need one win in their last two fixtures to regain the title they last won in 2006/07.

History shows that the leading side going into the second half of the season have normally fallen off the pace.

North Village overcame a seven-point gap in the 2005-06 campaign to pip Somerset Trojans to the title.

Cougars will be looking to end that jinx by winning the league this Sunday against PHC after being in pole position at the turn.

Skipper Kwame Steede said earlier this season that his side wouldn't fall into any war of words with anyone, but instead will stick to their motto of taking one game at a time.

"We will stick to our motto of one game at a time and at the end we will be where we deserve to be, whether it be at the top or anywhere else," said Steede

Remaining fixtures: Sunday: PHC(a), Sunday, March 29: North Village (h)

Prediction: Champions

Dandy Town Hornets

24 pts, +7 GD

Dandy Town have been in the hunt for league honours since the beginning of the league and a victory over leaders Cougars in January, a result that saw them go top.

This was supposed to see the St. John's side push on and distance themselves from the chasing pack.

However, two draws in their last three matches has seen the 2003/04 champions drop back to the hunter role rather then the hunted and with time running out, they will need to continue their form if they are to take the fight the distance.

A slip up against Rangers this weekend will see the title go to the 'Den', so the pressure is definitely on if they are to catch the Big Cats.

If the attacking force of Beach, Russell, Dill, and Wolffe have anything to say about what happens, it will surely go down to the last weekend where they will face Boulevard.

Prediction: Runner-up

Boulevard Blazers

22 pts, +9 GD

The outsiders to the title, they will need a host of scenarios to fall in their favour if they are to capture their fist league success since the 1994/95 season.

Blazers were only two points off the top and poised to make a run for the crown with games against Cougars and Hornets sandwiched around a date against Devonshire Colts.

But a defeat against Cougars last weekend put paid to any realistic hopes they had of closing the gap in the final stages.

Yet, they could have a say on which of the two sides above them win the title, with a date against Hornets on the final day of the season setting up to be a thrilling encounter.

Skipper Ajani Gibbons has all but conceded the league title, but will still ensure that his side makes the best of an FA Cup final date against Town

"We have to put the league behind us right now and look forward to the FA Cup. We have worked hard and it's time to get some reward," he said.
