Crunch time for Cougars
Devonshire Cougars v Southampton Rangers
If Cougars are to have any chance of thrusting themselves back into the title race, now is the time to get back to winning ways.
They have not won in the league since the start of the year and will need to turn their current poor form around with a home win at Devonshire Rec. tonight.
Rangers have taken a few big scalps in the past few weeks which has revived their ambitions of finishing in the top four.
A win against the defending champions would go a long way to fulfilling their goals.
Prediction: Cougars 3-2
Boulevard v North Village
North Village will be looking to recover from their FA Cup replay exploits against Robin Hood in mid-week and continue to apply pressure on Dandy Town at the top of the Premier Divison table.
The Dudley Eve champions are just two points behind Hornets and victory over Boulevard at St.John's Field on Sunday could see Shaun Goater's team go top if results go their way.
Blazers, like Cougars, have had a miserable start to 2010 and have fallen off the pace for league honours.
Yet they can drag themselves back into contention with a concentrated effort against Village.
With players coming back into the fold, they still have hope of rescuing their season but desperately need a win against Rams.
Prediction: Village 2-1
Hamilton Parish v Dandy Town
Hamilton Parish will be looking to transfer their FA Cup form to the league as they look to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
But they face the most prolific side in the league at the moment and will be hard pressed to get a result out of this one.
Although the cards will be stacked against them, if goalkeeper Nigel Burgess can keep them in the match then maybe they could snatch something out of the game at Wellington Oval.
Town will have revenge on their minds after the first game between the two teams went in favour of Hot Peppers, but how things have changed since then.
Firing on all cylinders, goals will be on the menu in this one.
Prediction: Town 4-1
Somerset Eagles v Somerset Trojans
Somerset Trojans need the points more than their parish rivals who are sitting comfortably in seventh position in the league.
Currently lying in one of the two relegation spots, Trojans must start picking up points against teams they are not expected to.
Eagles will be in a buoyant mood at White Hill after their comeback FA Cup win against PHC last weekend.
With Antwan Russell back, Eagles are finally looking like a team that belongs at the top of the pile – and they have the ability to make further inroads into the top bunch.
Prediction: Eagles 3-2
PHC v Devonshire Colts
PHC will not take Devonshire Colts so lightly this time around when they meet at Southampton Oval.
Colts earned a surprise win against Zebras the last time these two teams met.
This match will be a pivotal one for PHC, who still harbour league title aspirations. Only two points behind the leaders and a date with them to follow, a win against Colts cannot be taken for granted.
For Colts, they will need to keep tight at the back and limit the amount of chances they give PHC, who are known to play a fast paced game.
A positive result for Colts would lift them further from the relegation dogfight.
Prediction: PHC 3-0
