Dudley Eve games switched to tonight
The Dudley Eve matches that were due to take place at BAA Field, but were washed out by Tuesday's heavy rain will now take place tonight at Devonshire Rec.
Boulevard Blazers will kick-off proceedings against North Village at 7 p.m., with Dandy Town taking on Devonshire Cougars at 9 p.m..
Tuesday's matches were postponed because the newly-laid Field Turf at BAA Field flooded, after the new drainage system put in by Works and Engineering on Woodlands Road failed to deal with the volume of water that fell.
With the new $1.3million facilty under water, club president John Doran felt he had no option but to inform the Bermuda Football Association that the matches could not go ahead.
"Because the canal was so high, the water table was way up, and there was nowhere for the water to go," said Doran. "I'm not an engineer, but it (the canal) looks worse than what it was before the repairs.
"I've got to protect our investment as well, we paid a lot of money for it. We need to see if we can get this canal issue sorted out, because the water was backed up that far that our little field bar was under water, and I have never seen that under water before.
"I think part of the problem is that they have flood gates at the end of Mills Creek, but they have been out of operation for months and months and months, which I believe they are in the process of fixing.
"People were upset over it, but we couldn't use the pitch, it was like a lake, and there was no point on playing on it, there was standing water and the ball wasn't going to roll anyway."
