Dutch deserved it ... but Brazil lacked intensity

What a fabulous way to start the quarter-final stage of the World Cup, although it was at Brazil's expense that Holland marched on.

My team, Brazil, controlled the first half but came out after the break with no intensity, they seemed to lose focus of what was needed to win the game, and Holland stepped it up a bit.

Arjen Robben was very effective in winding them up and letting them get stuck into him and eventually Brazil lost Felipe Melo and were then down to ten men.

You have to give the Dutch credit, they played good football and eventually won.

For Felipe, it was something that happened mentally. Really Brazil should have been up 2-0 with the goal disallowed, and on television it looked good. If you go 2-0 up it is a big thing but at 1-0 the game remains wide open.

In the round of 16, Germany were by far the better side against England

The English were outgunned and will need to go back to the drawing board and start from scratch because a lot of the players in their side who had top billing going into the finals didn't live up to expectations.

That has a lot to do with playing in the English league and their football.

But hard luck to England and maybe goal-line technology will now be knocking on the door of FIFA, especially after Frank Lampard's goal that was not called.

There is a lot of money in the game nowadays and I personally think now is a good time to get that in play.

When you see Lampard's goal disallowed, and a few other incidents in the World Cup, then maybe it is time to bring it up.

At this level, and the way the officiating is going, if you are a referee and making these decisions you have a right to be criticised.

You are making the money to make the calls just like the players, so when you make a bad decision, you should get criticised too.

Human error is part of the game and it is no wonder referees are always under the microscope and you can't dispute the fact that it is a hard job.

However, those bad decisions can cost you a game, or a World Cup.

I feel for the Japanese player who missed his penalty, he is the only one who missed and he was on the biggest stage.

It is very disheartening to miss such a crucial penalty. He will live that moment fo the rest of his life.

Argentina against Germany today will be a great game. Both teams possess a wealth of talent.

It will come down to who wants it the most.

Don't be surprised if there is another shock result today because we are at the stage when anything can happen.

It's still to tough to decide who will win the World Cup. All the teams remaining are quality teams.

Obviously a lot of people will jump on Argentina now and they have a reason too, but there are other sides that can win. The final matches will be fascinating.
