Eddie Roque's new pony Shamrocks Formal Attire and the mare J.B's T.W. Bell with Fernando Rego were double winners in Sunday's harness pony racing at the
Cusom Eyes'd also won both heats in the 1.09/1 to 1.11/2 time bar while Arthur Hurst picked up his first win with Vieda's Laser Beam in the 1.13 to 1.16 time bar. Hurst also had a win with his other pony Maple Hill T-Bird.
Grand Shady with Michael DeCosta seems headed for the free-for-all with a winning time of 1.10 in one heat and a second in his other heat in 1.12. That heat in the 1.13/3 to 1.12/4 time bar was won by Abby Dabby Doo. Tom Matthews drove Flame On to victory in the second heat in the 1.16 to 1.18/4 time bar in a cracking 1.14.
The first heat of that time bar saw Just A Gigolo and Motown Scott dead heat for first place.
Grand Marshall continues to improve under the guidance of Kenny Mills. He won heat 18 in a time of 1.10/2, edging Abbie's Cassonova and Gusto's Crackerjack.
Michael DeCosta's Eddie the Great and Andy Stoneham's Shamrock's Tuxedo shared the honours in the free-for-all, winning a heat each.
There was some excitement in race three when V-6, driven by Andrea Westfield, went down and was thrown from the sulky. Bobby DeGraffe, who was driving Pat's Recovery, was also thrown from his sulky. But there were no injuries and both ponies and drivers continued.
The next race day is Sunday, December 10, starting at 1.00 p.m.
