Evans finishes second at Houston indoor meet
Bermuda middle distance runner Aaron Evans made his mark, representing the University of Memphis at the C-USA Indoor Championships in Houston, Texas over the weekend.
Evans took an impressive second place in the 800 metres in 1:52.80 and also helped the Tigers' 4x400 relay team to win their heat (3:21.57) and place third in the final.
The team finished sixth overall in the prestigious meet.
University head coach Kevin Robinson, commenting on the team's overall performance, said: "Our elite guys did a great job. Steffan (Nerdal), Guy (Hudson, Aaron (Evans), Jerome (Leslie), Knut (Syversen), Robert (Jackson), Preston (Williams) and the rest of the guys did a great job and stepped up to perform that they were supposed to."
n At the Bermuda Track and Field Association meet at the National Sports Centre on Sunday, two more athletes reach the 'A' standard for for the upcoming Carifta Games.
Allison Outerbridge won the Under-20 women's triple jump with a leap of 12.10 metres and Kameron Creighton qualified in the 3,000 metres with a time of nine minutes, 53.4 seconds.
