Gibbons praises side's hunger

Boulevard skipper Ajani Gibbons praised his sides' hunger that led to their 3-1win in their FA Cup semi-final clash against Southampton Rangers at Devonshire Rec. last night.

The captain, who had only yesterday assured his team's fans that they would make the final, praised the attitude and application of his men in gaining a second FA Cup final berth in three years.

"It was a good match, we came out hungry and got the job done," said Gibbons.

"Our coach said 'it's do or die time', so we went out and put our all into this match and in the end we did what we had set out to do.

"It is very important to get the first goal in a big game like this.

"We went into cruise control up 3-0 and gave them a lifeline with their goal due to our complacency, but we were always the better side and in the end it showed."

In the final they will meet the Dandy Town Hornets on April 12th at the National Sports Centre (NSC).

Knowing who they were going to face in the final had added incentive and will undoubtedly set up for a fascinating end to the season.

Before the two sides lock horns in the final, they will square off in the final league fixture of the season.

With Town currently in second, three points behind Cougars and Blazers a further two points behind Town, anything can still happen in the run in to league honours.

And Gibbons wants his side to strike a psychological blow when the two sides meet in their first meeting, knowing that the winner will head into the final on high and on the back of a win against their opponent.

"The game against Dandy Town will be revenge for the Dudley Eve final, it is a mouth-watering final for everyone but we will be looking to get a trophy. We need to win something for the fans, only silverware can do it.

"Our last game of the season against Dandy Town is also a do-or-die because whoever wins it will have the psychological advantage going into the final.

"We know what needs to be done and in the end we will see who is ready to play and who is hungry for success."
