The win moved Rotherham from fourth to second place, level on points with Blackpool but with a better goal difference. Rotherham are two points ahead of third placed Mansfield and need just a draw on Saturday at home to Chesterfield in their final match to be assured of clinching promotion outright. The top three teams gain automatic promotion while the next four in the standings will be involved in a playoff for the fourth spot.

Blackpool are away to Lincoln in their final match while Mansfield are at home to Rochdale who still have their sights on a playoff spot. Division leaders Burnley, who have already clinched a promotion spot, won 2-1 away to York City.
