Golfers head for Azores

today for the Azores where they will compete in a Pro-Am tournament at Verde Golf and Country Club on the island of San Miguel.
Bermuda's number one player Dwayne Pearman (Ocean View) is joined by Cornell Bean (Belmont), Steven DeCosta (Mid Ocean), Eardley Jones and Leo Custodio (both of the Golf Academy) as well as unattached pro J.J.Madeiros.
Some 18 local amateurs are also in the party, including tour leader Joe Rapose who organises golf trips to the Azores twice a year. The contingent are due to return on April 1.
