Goodwill builds to exciting climax
The 56th Bermuda Goodwill Tournament is set for an exciting finish tomorrow with several teams still in contention.
Only three strokes seperate the top seven teams in the Team Net championship, while in the Team Gross event things are slightly clearer with only the top three likely winners.
In the individual stableford competition, professional Sam Olson of Redding CC leads going into today's final round on 60 points, but just four points seperates him from Terry O'Hara of Cyprian Keyes GC who is fifth.
Olson's good day yesterday, alongside team mates Peter Hayes, Bill Fow and Loren Findorak, helped Redding take the overall lead in the Net competition, with a total of 179. Sugarbush, the leaders after the first two days, are just two further back at 181.
The senior Net division is even closer, with the third day leaders all tied at 180 points. Teams at the top include Sharon CC, led by professional Fran Dzwilewski and team mates Dick Morse, Peter Smith and J.P. Jones, Bellewood GC, led by Tony Perla alongside team mates Terry Woodward, Jamie Wolsky and Montebello GC with host Jerry Bruner, Marty Svensen, John Rayner and Tom Steinoff.
In the gross division Diamondback GC, led by Tim Conley and team mates Daniel Augustus, John Mitchell, Mike Boorman and Cyprian Keyes GC, led by Terry O'Hara and team mates Dan Falcucci, Dave Falcucci and Peter Boler are tied at the top with a total of 189.
