Hall's trial at Charlton put back to May
Freddy Hall's trials at English League One side Charlton Athletic have been put back until later in the season, writes Stephen Wright.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper was due to start a two-week trial with the South London club this week, but the arrangement has now been delayed until May.
Hall had been recommended to the Addicks by former Newcastle United and West Ham 'keeper Shaka Hislop who coached him at Quinnipiac University.
Yesterday, the Bermuda international told The Royal Gazette he planned to finish off his remaining classes at school before looking to turn professional.
"There are a number of reasons why the trial has been delayed," he said. "I am going to go back to school to finish my remaining to two or three classes. I have been at school so long it makes sense to finish it.
"I'm a bit disappointed I will not be going (for trials) but I am glad I have an opportunity to go in May."
Charlton manager Phil Parkinson told The South London Press: "He's (Hall) is not coming at the moment – the arrangement has been put back."
In order to attend the Charlton trial, Hall had to turn down an invitation for Major League Soccer (MLS) try-outs. He was one of only five 'keepers invited to the annual trials held prior to the MLS Draft at Central Broward Park, Fort Lauderdale this week. Hall said he would be playing for St.George's in their First Division match against BAA at BAA Field on Sunday.
