Hogges away day blues continue
Bermuda Hogges 0
Pittsburgh Riverhounds 1
Bermuda Hogges slipped to bottom of the USL-D2 league table after losing their fifth successive away match, writes Stephen Wright.
A header from a 47th minute corner was enough to separate the two teams at Chartiers Valley High School last night.
Assistant coach Jack Castle said although Riverhounds didn't pose much attacking threat, Hogges failed to show enough creativity to win the game.
"To be honest I didn't feel like Riverhounds were causing us much danger and I felt it was a game we should have won," he said.
"Other than the goal they didn't really look like scoring.
"However, we didn't push them as much as we should have and that was disappointing."
Castle saved special praise for midfielder Seion Darrell who he said stood out for Hogges.
"I thought Seion had a very good game in midfield. He was probably our best player on the night."
Goalkeeper Nigel Burgess joins up with the Hogges squad today ahead of tomorrow's match against tabletoppers Harrisburg City Islanders.
"Nigel should give us a boost and it will be good to have him back," added Castle."
