High-flying Reading United proved too strong for Bermuda Hogges last night in Pennsylvania.

Hogges were unable to follow up their impressive victory over New Hampshire Piranhas on Friday night, going down 2-0 against United at the Exeter High School.

The visitors found United in a dominant mood and conceded two goals before the interval.

After the break the Hogges improved and had a decent shout for a penalty after a United defender appeared to have handled the ball in the box.

Under-20 internationals Daniel Andrade and Jari Minors both gave good accounts of themsleves as second half substitutes. Darin Lewis, head of delegation, was full of praise for Hogges goalkeeper Freddy Hall who reeled off a number of point blank saves.

"We had to absorb an enormous amount of pressure in the first half and Freddy made about four superb point blank saves," he said.

"Coach Scott Morton re-organised the players during half-time and they greatly improved once they stopped their bickering. We created a few chances and had a good penalty claim for handball.

"Debutants Daniel Andrade and Jari Minors came on in the second and did well.

"Jari's a sophomore at college and showed a lot of promise and pace up front."

Hogges are back in action tomorrow at Northern Virginia Royals.
