Hogges take bite out of Piranhas
Hampton Road Piranhas 1 –Bermuda Hogges 2
Bermuda Hogges returned to winning ways last night with a morale-boosting victory over Hampton Road Piranhas in Virginia, United States.
Hogges found themselves a goal down after just five minutes when the Piranhas punished a defensive lapse in concentration.
But Scott Morton's men showed plenty of character to fighback with goals in either half from Nahki Wells and Keishen Bean.
Morton, Hogges' coach, deployed Wells in the front man role for the first time this season and said he could have scored a hatful had his finishing been more clinical.
"Nahki played very well tonight and got himself in some great positions," Morton said.
"He could have scored about five goals but his finishing let him down a little.
"Although I felt we could have played better a win always lifts spirits and we needed that."
Tomorrow Hogges visit high-flying Reading United before rounding off their three-game road trip against Northern Virginia Royals on Tuesday.
