Hot Peppers triumphant
Hamilton Parish Under-10s were crowned champions at the 8th annual Western Soccer Tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last weekend.
The Hot Peppers fielded two teams at the tournament with the advanced side winning their category and the intermediate group finishing runners-up.
Coach Phillip Burgess said the natural talents of Parish's players took their US opponents by surprise.
"Our advanced team were scoring seven and eights goals in some of their matches," he said. "They won their final 4-2.
"A lot the US coaches commented on how good some of our young boys were."
Burgess also praised Hot Peppers' younger team who came second in their division.
"We took a number of nine-year-olds to the tournament and the younger team very nearly won their competition as well."
Aaron Burgess scored 15 goals for the advanced team with Zion Tucker also weighing in with four.
Juki Burgess top scored for the younger team with six goals.
Burgess' assistant coach James Perry also travelled with the team to Florida.
