HSBC Bermuda is to pump some much-needed money into the Island's golfing scene.

The bank and Bermuda Golf Association announced a new partnership yesterday, that will see HSBC support the BGA's major events this year.

"The golfing community is proud to have gained the confidence and support of a leading organisation on our Island," said BGA president Terry West. "This relationship will help further enhance our events and hopefully encourage interest and excitement in the game of golf."

CEO Phil Butterfield was equally positive about the link-up. "The sport of golf brings the most diversified component of Bermuda's social fabric together for healthy competition and camaraderie."
