I'm learning all the time from team-mates

I would say that I have experienced quite a lot in my time as a footballer, but I'm quickly learning that I actually know nothing.

This past week I have been with my new side New York Red Bulls in Argentina on pre-season tour, and I have learnt so much just from watching my new team-mate Juan Pablo Angel in training.

You can learn so much from a player of his calibre, and compared to what I have experienced, to meet and understand what he has done is something out of this realm.

He brings a wealth of knowledge from playing at the highest level all over the world. He's played for Aston Villa, competed in the UEFA Cup, and is worshiped here in Argentina where he played for River Plate.

Angel is the ultimate professional; he does everything perfect from his runs, his passing and his finishing. He is a real role model for the players coming up through the ranks to look to for guidance.

He has a lot of knowledge to teach and assist everyone with their own game, as a player, I am just looking to improve everyday and I will aim to pick up all I can from him.

Training with Red Bulls is a bit different to what I have experienced before. Each coach brings their own style of football and philosophies, but the coach is allowing us to just play and getting used to each other.

We are training twice a day, and have played a couple of friendlies as well against Velez Sarsfield and River Plate. We won both games 2-1, so the feeling in the camp is good at the moment.

As well as playing against River Plate we went to watch them and the atmosphere in the stadium was unlike anything I have ever seen before.

I have been Old Trafford and other places but this is by far the rowdiest. Like I said, Juan played for River Plate and the fans adore him down here. When we went to the game, people recognised him and it was a good feeling to be with someone who is so popular in this part of the world.

He took us to one of his favourite restaurants where all the top footballers go, they had one of his autographed jerseys hanging up so it was great to be apart of that.

We leave Argentina on March 8th and then head home. But before we leave we will go to watch Boca Juniors play, which they say is way more intense then anything we have seen before, so it should be exciting.

I still have a one-match ban to complete in the MLS, so I'm going to miss the opening game against Seattle, which means my first game for my new club may be against New England.

Thought of playing a lot of my friends will have my adrenaline pumping. I was on the opposite side of the field last year, but I will try to remain calm and do what is best for the team.

Whenever I play it will give me chance to show what I have learnt during my time in South America. The experience has really opened my eyes up to a lot of new aspects of the game and can't watch to showcase my skill with my new team.
