SWIMMING
Bermuda Masters swimmers Chris Smith and Colleen Nelson continued to shine in their respective age groups at the recent Canadian National Championships in Toronto.
Nelson, swimming in the 60-64 age division, won one gold medal, five silver and one bronze in her seven events while Smith, in the 75-79 category, took home gold in all six of his events.
But the meet was highlighted by the performances of Winnipeg's Jaring Timmerman, who has been breaking world records on a regular basis since he turned 100 years old this year.
In a meet that attracted 950 competitors, local and national media, Timmerman smashed two world records in his three events.
In all 16 world records and 121 Canadian records were broken over the weekend.
ROWING
Bermuda Rowing Association are offering people the chance to try the sport this summer with assistance from one of Canada's top coaches.
Courses for children and adults will begin in July, and applications are now being accepted for the courses which will run for one week for children and four weeks for adults.
The cost of a three times a week adult course is $595 while four one-week junior camps will run over the same period for a cost of $195 for a week. For an application form and more information, contact bermudarowing@gmail.com.
TRIATHLON
The Capital G Annual Iron Kids' Triathlon will take place on June 13 this year at Clearwater Beach.
It is the 21st year that the event has taken place and registration is now open for the main race for children aged seven to 14 and for a mini-race for three to six-year-olds.
