Bermuda's golf trio of Tariqah Walikraam, Kim Botelho and Ebonie Burgess have endured two trying days in the opening rounds of the Women's World Amateur Championships in Adelaide, Australia.

With two rounds remaining in the 72-hole tournament, the Island team find themselves in 45th position in a field representing 48 countries.

Thursday's second round at the Grange Golf Club West Course – par 72, measuring 6,149 yards – saw Walikraam, Botelho and Burgess combine for a 36-hole total of 329 (39 over par).

The team were 14 over par for the day, an improvement on their first round played at the Grange GC East Course (par 73, measuring 6,260) where they finished 25 over par.

Runaway leaders Sweden are 15 under par after 36 holes, having fired six-under yesterday for a 275 total.

The Swedes are eight shots ahead of second-placed Spain (283), who recorded a combined total of eight-under yesterday.

All the teams will now play both courses again, today and tomorrow, to conclude the tournament.

In the bi-ennial championships, Bermuda's team placed 32 out of 42 in 2006.
