A recent report in The Royal Gazette indicating that the Jamaican Football Association had demanded an appearance fee in order for their Under-23 national team to play matches on the Island over the Christmas period was incorrect.
Bermuda Football Association have confirmed that was never the case.
The erroneous Gazette story, suggesting that $60,000 had been demanded by Jamaica, was based on information provided by a BFA source.
However, BFA president Richard Calderon and General Secretary David Sabir, who were involved with negotiations with Jamaica, have insisted that an appearance fee was never discussed.
The Gazette apologises for the error.
