Keeper Hall awaits Plymouth decision
Bermuda Hogges' goalkeeper Freddy Hall is sweating on whether he will be asked to stay on at Plymouth Argyle by manager Peter Reid.
The 25-year-old has been on trial at the Pilgrims for the past few weeks after being recommended to the League One club by Hogges' co-owner Paul Scope and former West Ham striker Clyde Best.
Hall recently returned from the club's pre-season tour of Holland where he played in their 3-3 draw against First Division team SC Cambuur and received praise for his performance from Reid.
"He has done smashing. He came out for crosses, and hand on heart I don't think he had a chance with any of the goals," Reid told The Herald newspaper.
Reid declined to speak on whether he would offer deals to Plymouth's trialist Hall, Tony Capaldi and Anton Peterlin.
"There's deals to be done if it's in our scope. I think all three have done well," he said.
Scope said he had received positive feedback on Hall from the Pilgrims' assistant manager Paul Mariner and expects the club the make a decision on the keeper's future over the weekend.
"According to Paul, Freddy wasn't at fault for any of the goals," he said. "Freddy made a couple of good saves and I'm getting the impression he's looked decent in training and they're at least considering asking him to stay on.
"By the sound of it Freddy's at least given himself a chance. He only got promised two weeks and that's up now so I believe they will make a decision this weekend whether to let him go, extend his trial or give him a contract."
Hall made his debut for Plymouth earlier this month in a 3-1 defeat at Torquay United.
He had been meant to attend trials at Charlton Athletic at the start of the year on the recommendation of ex-Newcastle United keeper Shaka Hislop but was unable to go because of personal reasons.
Plymouth have three more pre-season matches in the UK against Hereford United, QPR and Saltash United.
