Bermuda international Khano Smith received an early bath for a reckless tackle in New England Revolution's 3-1 defeat against Kansas City Wizards on Saturday.

Smith was dismissed for his challenge on Herculez Gomez in the second-half to reduce Revs in nine men after Gabriel Badilla was dismissed in the first period.

Both players will miss Rev's opening match in the MLS Cup play-offs against Chicago Fire on Thursday. Both games of the two game series will be shown on ESPN2.

Wizards' scorers were Claudio Lopez, Davy Arnaud and an Michael Parkhurst own goal.

Jeff Larentowicz pulled one back for Revs in the 90th minute.
