Namibia coach Johan Rudolph believes only maximum points will do for his side against Bermuda in today's Intercontinental Shield clash in Windhoek.

With no injury concerns Rudolph has been able to name a strong side for the four-day game with the dangerous Gerrie Snyman, who tormented Bermuda when the two teams met in Bermuda last year, again available as is bowler Louie Klazinga who has taken 48 wickets so far this season.

Talented teenager Raymond Van Schoor will open the batting alongside Ewald Steenkamp, and skipper Craig Williams will add some impetus to the top order, likely to come in at four in a game Rudolph has described as vital.

"It's really important, and it's a vital game for Bermuda also," said Rudolph.

Namibia are currently third in the competition standings, with six points, 11 behind second placed UAE and 21 behind top side Uganda.

However the top two have played two games, and Namibia only one – a narrow defeat at the hands of UAE.

With a maximum 20 points available from the encounter, 14 for the win and six first innings points, Rudolph still feels his side can make the finals of the competition in Dubai in November.

They face Uganda at home in September in what might be a winner takes all match-up, but first they must get past Bermuda.

"I don't think the first innings points would help our case (on their own)," said Rudolph. "We need to go for 20 points, for us to get back into this thing we need to win this game."
