New-boys will be a force – Burke

Reading United coach Brendan Burke insists Bermuda Hogges can be real force in the Premier Development League (PDL) this season.

Burke's said the Hogges possessed more natural ability than most teams in the top US amateur league and is confident they will claim points from every opponent they come up against.

"They're very athletic and individually gifted, more so than most teams that they'll come up against in the PDL," said Burke.

"They're good, they're going to take points off everyone in the league.

"... they kept on digging, digging and digging and made us work for the win.

"They look a very resilient side and have been well-coached."

Burke said he was disappointed with his team's finishing but was content to take four points back to Pennsylvania.

"We always try and take six points but we're happy with four as we were playing against a quality opponent like (the Hogges)," he said.

"We have only conceded one goal in six games and a few of our defenders are going places."
