Night on the town for ISL All-Stars
The Island Soccer League (ISL) All-Star players have embarked on a week of promotion with the second annual showpiece set to be aired on Fox Soccer Channel (FSC).
The All-Star match kicks off this Saturday at the National Sports Centre (NSC) at 6 p.m.
Tonight at Harbour Nights the players will be making an appearance on Front Street, signing autographs for fans, while tomorrow they will be training at the NSC from 6.30 p.m.
ISL commissioner David Bascome is encouraging youngsters across the Island to watch the All-Stars perform during the training session.
"We're asking all youth players to come by and get autographs on the training night," said Bascome.
"On Friday night we will start the weekend off with the Commissioner's Gala at the Fairmont Southampton Princess from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. This will be the last event before the All-Star match.
"Fox Soccer Channel will be arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday, with the game being aired the following Saturday."
Starting the spectacle on Saturday will be the Legends game, which kicks off at 5.15 p.m and will feature the likes of Ralph (Gumbo) Bean sr., Joe Trott, Dale Russell and Randy Bean.
Bascome added: "This game has been set up to give the former players the respect they deserve. No longer should we be calling them old players, they are legends and have paved the way for what we have today.
"Last year we started the Legends game and the event was a great success, with Fox Soccer now apart of the ISL All-Star game, this will be a special event. "
Entertainment will follow the match with local artists Troy Anthony, C'Daynger, Split Personality, Black, Bonnie Easton, Roache Killa, ISL cheerleaders, H and H Gombeys performing. There will also be an appearance by the ISL's very own dancer 'Flash'.
A post-game party at Pier 6 will cap off the weekend.
Tickets for all the events are available at Cellular One on Reid Street.
