Osborne shines in final round to lift Glidden Bowl title
Alex Osborne fired a sizzling two-under par 68 in the final round to seal victory in the 15 and Over division at the 26th Annual Glidden Bowl tournament at Ocean Viev Golf Club this week.
In a close contest, Osborne finished the three rounds with a total of two-over 212, beating Damien Palanyandi who posted 76 in the final round for a total of 219.
In the same division, Mackih McGowan lifted the net division title with a 10-under 200 total, beating out Scott Gilbertson who finished with a four-under 206.
In the 13-14 gross division all Mitchell Campbell had to do was show up for the final round after taking a commanding lead in te first two rounds
He finished a whopping 88 shots ahead of his nearest rival, posting a total of 244. Corey DeSilva captured the net title.
Walker Campbell was the gross winner among the 12 and Unders as he played consistently over the three days, finishing on 254, five shots ahead of runner-up Thomas Allkins.
Girls Open Division honours went to Elizabeth Parson ahead of Zayla Smith.
An Open Division event played over nine holes saw Alvin Landy fire a final roud 46 to finish on 135, just one stroke ahead of Zyun Smith and Landy's sister, Al Shae.
