Tuff Dogs 6 MR Onions 0

A BJ Payne hat-trick confirmed Tuff Dogs as the first Corona League champions as they thrashed MR Onions in their make-up match on Wednesday night.

Payne got the ball rolling when he received a pass on the left hand side and scored with a 25-yard strike into the far corner.

He then followed up with a second goal, latching onto a long ball that was played over the top from a diagonal run, taking one touch and clipping his effort over the 'keeper from 20 yards out.

Lamual Crofton got in on the act when he put home from a goalmouth scramble.

Payne completed his hat trick after Aaron Browne beat defenders down the left and squared the ball for an on rushing Payne who made no mistake with his first-time shot.

Gary Adams made it 5-0 when he planted a volley from 35 yards into the back of the net, with the 'keeper well off his line.

The sixth goal came from a cross from Adams on the left that was nodded back by Robbie Almeida into the path of Crofton on the penalty spot, who calmly beat the keeper with a side-footed shot along the ground.

The champions were awarded their league title last night after their final match of the season against Vasco.
