Paynter hits three for leaders St. David's
St. David's 3
Ireland Rangers 1
Hat-trick hero Dejuan Paynter guided St. David's back to the top of the table after they swept aside Ireland Rangers at St. David's.
The St. David's skipper scored all three of his goals in the first half, leaving the rest of the match a rather pointless affair with their opponents never seriously applying pressure to get anything out of the match.
Rangers managed to pull a goal back through Jonathan Bean.
However, Paynter's first half theatrics ensured three vital points for the Islanders, who now go one point clear at the top over St. George's.
St. George's Colts 0
Somerset Trojans 1
An own goal gave Somerset Trojans revenge over St. George's Colts at Wellington Oval yesterday.
Having already been beaten on their own pitch twice by St. George's, it was Somerset's turn to return the favour and beat their rivals on their turf.
With the defeat, Colt's relinquish their lead at the top and are now chasing St. David's, who are up on them by a point.
Somerset Eagles 3
Paget Lions 2
Somerset Eagles were made to sweat out their three points against Paget Lions as they clawed their way to victory at White Hill Field.
Roger Lee gave Eagles the lead before but Joshua Crockwell equalised for the Lions.
Paget skipper Racai Emery scored just before the break to give Paget the lead at half time, with an upset looking to be on the cards.
However, it was not to be as Darrin Dowling equalised for the hosts early in the second half before sinking the hearts of Paget fans with some ten minutes remaining, scoring the all-important winning goal.
X Roads Warriors 2
Young Men's Social Club 2
Dennis Musson capitalised on a goalkeeping fumble in the closing minutes to grab X Roads Warriors a share of the spoils against Young Men's Social Club at Garrison Field.
Musson slotted the ball home after the 'keeper failed to cleanly collect a deep probing cross in the middle.
Earlier, another goalkeeping blunder enabled Shervin Jennings to score and put the visiting Bluebirds ahead before X Roads came storming back with an equaliser from Khomeini Talbot, who pounced on a diagonal pass and slid the ball under the onrushing goalie.
Social Club regained the lead when Clay Darrell scored the goal-of-the match with a 20 yard blast that rattled the back of the net.
But X Roads again refused to roll over and play dead and managed to salvage a hard-earned point thanks to Musson's late heroics.
